Krystal Meyers

Krystal Meyers is very encouraging in her songs and her songs go through everyday teenage life. Lets face it, we all been through trails and discouragement. If we put our faith in Jesus we will not fail. She was born in California in the month of July 31, 1988. Her music involves with Christian rock, Contemporary Christian, Christian alternative rock, Christian pop, Christian dance-pop, and Christian electro…very interesting combination if I do say so myself.

God loves new music that glorifies him. Krystal Meyers is one of those singers who put every emotion into her songs. The song ‘Hallelujah’, even though she is into rock and other type of genres, the song is about praising Jesus and how to worship our heavenly Father who is in heaven. He is never far away from you.

You hear it from almost every singer out there…they started out young and that is exactly what happened with Krystal. She was only two years of age…kind of hard to grasp. Some kids can know music than others and some others have certain other things they can do at a young age. Just as many people say it’s a good thing to be on stage when you are young, she was five years of age when she sang all by herself on stage. At ten, she started to write her own songs. God had a purpose for her as you can see: to sing for him and to encourage those who need music that is encouraging. When she was thirteen, she already was into the guitar. I love the guitar. I wish I could play it. My tuner is out of tune and it’s quite hard but I noticed that God has a purpose for me as well…I already found it. If you haven’t yet, that’s okay. Keep searching. By the age of sixteen, Meyers realised her first titled album: Krystal Meyers. Just like in the book with ‘The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton was sixteen when she finished the book and it got realised when she was seventeen. It just shows that with great determination, they weren’t going to skip out on opportunities. They wanted their voices to be heard…and they did.

When she entered into ninth grade…we all see it. Teens are going into drugs, sex, alcohol and parties and that’s when the song ‘Anticonformity’ came real to her…and it does to me as well. I love that song. It’s is one of my favorites. I noticed as well when I entered into school, many teens were partying, drugs. I wanted to not be apart of that and so I kept away from people who do that. If you are surrounded with yourself with people like that; love them like Jesus would. It does not mean to conform to what they are doing but avoid doing the things they do. Pray for them…prayer works.

“A lady in our church told my mom ‘Your daughter is going to travel the world and be a missionary.’ That’s what this is—a mission field and music is the outlet... My faith means everything to me,” she says. “It’s who I am. It’s the basis of everything I do. Jesus Christ is everything. He’s given me peace and joy that is so unreal that I just have to sing about it. It comes out in my music. I have to share what I believe! ...I want God to be speaking through my music. So I stepped back and prayed about it. I surrendered the whole writing process to God.”

Krystal signed up with Essential Records which is a Christian label. It was very popular in Japan as many people in that country loves her.

This type album of hers is Christian pop/rock…she does many other type genres. She’s a girl of variety…a very talented artist of the music industry.

This album was put out on the market on June 7 of 2005 and in the US and then finally worldwide in May 30 of 2006.

Why Do I Like It?:
I encourage you to get her CD. It’s wonderful. It’s fun and it is soothing music that wants you to make your head move to the music.

What she says about the song: "becoming the person God wants you to be and refusing to become the person that the world wants you to be...and to pursue the plan that God has for you... I know exactly what you're going through... I just want to encourage you."

Dying for a Heart came out on October 24, 2006 worldwide. It’s a wonderful CD. I love it! This is her second album.

The Music:
The Situation: "One cut on the album is "The Situation," (which openly opposes premarital sex) a song about temptation and having the strength to make the right choice when a relationship begins to take a more physical turn. "We wanted to write a controversial kind of song that would totally challenge the youth of this generation," she says of the song she crafted with her guitarist Brian Hitt. "With 'The Situation' being about premarital sex, we wanted to make it more challenging and in-your-face. This is a real subject and it's serious."

The Beauty of Grace: Krystal says, "It's about grace and the fact that no matter how far away you are, God is here. All your scars and every mistake you've made is erased in God's arms. In His arms, everything is forgiven. There is grace so abundant."
